Is Happiness a Duty?

Is Happiness a Duty?

Because happiness is a choice, I believe we all have a duty to be happy as much as possible.

Of course, the blind pursuit of happiness, particularly without purpose, can lead to hedonism and is possibly a form of suffering.  However, if one is chronically unhappy, how does that reflect on one's religious practice or philosophy?  Employees with sunny dispositions generally perform better than unhappy employees.  Positive attitudes (and negative attitudes) are contagious.

If you can't do it for yourself, you can always help someone else with a kind word, smile, or positive attitude.
